Subcommittees

Our Ninth Tradition states: “ NA, as such, ought never be organized, but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.”

Our subcommittees take on the various forms of service that the groups would have to do if we didn’t have the subcommittees. This frees the groups to concentrate on our primary purpose of carrying the message of recovery.

The NA groups come together to form an Area Service Committee (ASC) which forms the different subcommittees needed to insure that these services are made available to the groups they serve. The groups  have the final say in all matters affecting them as the subcommittees are directly responsible to the groups.
